I am far from an automotive expert, but I do get online and read about cars and what's going on with the industry just about every day. So far I haven't seen a single thing that indicates there will be a new Z/28 coming out. I love my 2015......not just because it's awesome, but because it's one of the most rare, unique vehicles around.

I'm almost hoping they don't build a 6th gen version.

There’s nothing to power a Z/28. I wouldn’t expect a 6th gen Z/28, at this point. Honestly, I don’t see the Z/28 coming back at all. The figure is small turbo charged engines. High power n/a V8s are a thing of the past.

If only I had a nickel for every time someone asked me that. I'd have another 5th gen Z by now.

Even if they did, which they won't,it would never be as unique as these. Thank goodness some engineers were allowed to have fun with some "Parts bin" cars at the end of gen 5 production.

I think the z/28 name will return, don't know what generation, not 2019 specifically... I don't know what powertain they'd put in it either...
z/28 model will live again though

I'd be shocked if they build another performance model - aren't sales of GM products (both Corvettes and Camaros) struggling? I read somewhere that the ZL1 1LE was the 6th gen z/28 but obviously didn't get the badge because of the power plant.

I don't see it happening on the current platform. If it were the king of hill Camaro, it'd have to best the ZL1 1LE in performance and would be way too pricey. If not king of hill, then where would it be slotted? Between ZL1 1LE and ZL1? Doesn't make sense. Between 1LE and ZL1? Still doesn't make sense. And certainly not slotted between 1LE and SS.
I have a feeling we may never see one again. Developing a new high performance NA engine may not make economical sense given the movement toward twin turbos, EV, etc.

Agreed, seems unlikely at this point for GM to do such a thing. There are already a lot of variations in the Camaro lineup, not much room for another one.
