Jane Wicker, wingwalker, dies in crash at Dayton, OH today

I've seen her wingwalking at an airshow once. Sad to see this happen.

Saw this news earlier. Wow, that was just sad. The plane went into a stall as it was trying to roll. Prayers to both their families.

Yeah, I don't have other video to work from as far as how that maneuver normally goes, however it looks like the pilot never levels the plane while inverted, perhaps because of low speed. Wings not level, and pitched down while upside down.

As you said, plane stalled as soon as the pilot rolled, though I have a feeling the pilot knew something was wrong. It seems like he was struggling to get it level before he rolled, I have a feeling he knew it was unrecoverable by the time he tried to roll the plane back to level.

Not yet. I'm headed out to NC for 6-8 months. I leave in 4-6 weeks.

I am actually considering getting a Stingray instead of the ZL1. I'll pick up one or the other once I get back here to Seattle.

In the meantime, I'm looking to get an Audi Q5 or S5/6 to replace my Sonic for the trip out east and back. Probably the Q5.

...much happiness whichever route you take. Stingray or ZL1!

Such a tragedy for the airshow circuit and their families. Looked like he stalled a little and pushed down to recover instead of up maybe. we've all been trained repeatedly how to recover from a stall right side up and muscle memory sometimes takes over.
