Several points: Currently most LEO's utilize Lidar for speed "enforcement". Virtually ALL traffic speed cameras (affectionaetly known as scameras) use Laser for photo enforcement.

Laser "jammers" are openly interpretted as illegal when the intended use is to defeat law enforcement Lidar units from enforceing speed. However, Laser "jammers" marketed as parking "sensors" are not subject to this gray area. The vast majority of these marketed units are worthless though. There are 1 or 2 units available that have decent "jam to gun" success verified by independent parties testing them in many conditions using all known LEO laser units available. Nothing is 100%, and as someone pointed out previously the "jammer" needs a decent placement to be more effective...problematic when trying to conceal the fact you're using one.

To use one of these devices to simply drive like an ass is not a good plan obviously, however...using them to protect yourself against the very obvious scameras used to generate $ for public officials (who often have stock in the companies supplying them lol) is right on.

Laser is watched by FDA, and radar is FCC. You cannot jam radar legally as it is enforced by FCC. Now laser is a whole different deal, as it is enforced by the FDA, why I have no idea. But that is how it is, so yes you can jam laser in most states including Texas, as the above quote of law is for "radar" not laser two different things. There is a few that actually work as advertised, most have mounts in the bumpers, and one came out a few years back that is pretty solid for laser. Look up "radar roy" write ups on difference on what works and what doesnt.

The current law:

http://www.guysoflidar.com/usa-laser-jammer-laws.html

No longer legal in Texas as of 9/1/11. But legal in most states.

Since I have been known to do 75 mph on I-70 (where it is 65 mph), I should just rip out my laser detection system, follow the law and do no more then 65 mph. I'm not sure why I would want to take it to the track and do 75 mph since it goes much faster!!

LOL at all the choir boys and girls.

You are WRONG! I copied the complete new Texas law that went into effect Sept/2011. Read it completely,.... it coves both. If you read it fully it states radar or laser. Many other states have rewritten their traffic codes to include both radar and laser just as Texas did.

From the chart, looks like 10 states out of 50 have laws against LAser Jammers. I'll have to get good use out of AAA to get a legal path to Vegas!!!

Ain't that the truth. The Escort 9500ci unit I have is a fairly stealth mount- not as easy to detect as regular radar detectors (Not so obvious).

What I am not sure of is what would happen if I went to a state such as Virginia- Would I still get a ticket if the unit is turned off? Virginia (close by) doesn't allow anything. I haven't really investigated that far because I generally don't drive the Camaro on long road trips- thats what the Impala and Harley are for.

You can't even sell jammers much less possess them in Ca..

(b) No person shall use, buy, possess, manufacture, sell, or otherwise distribute any device that is designed for jamming, scrambling, neutralizing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with radar, laser, or any other electronic device used by a law enforcement agency to measure the speed of moving objects.
(c) Except as provided in subdivision (d), a violation of subdivision (a) or (b) is an infraction.
(d) When a person possesses four or more devices in violation of subdivision (b), the person is guilty of a misdemeanor.
(e) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person who has a valid federal license for operating the devices described in this section may transport one or more of those devices if the license is carried in the vehicle transporting the device at all times when the device is being transported.

I know for sure jammers and detectors are not legal on military installations. I just tell them to remove it, otherwise I cite them if they give me grief.

Hey buddy, if you're trying to sell this just post it in the classifieds already. Your location is listed in Florida and the ebay seller is also listed in Florida.
Not trying to jump the gun here, just seems a little suspicious to me especially, after you give this thread a 2 month old bump.
