proper tire pressure for nitto nt05R

My last few track outings I have ended up at 17psi. (305/45 18" on a 9.5" rim) I check the pressure after every pass to make sure it stays there. I couldn't ever get them to bite up around 20-22psi. Where is everyone else running these? and what 60ft?

The lowest I would go is 15psi, I ran my 305/35/20 M/T at 15, Running the 325/45/17 M&H at 20.. Trick is getting a good burn out. Come to the track tomorrow, I'll help you get it hooked up..

yeah...I would totally, I have some other friends going actually. My 8year old's birthday party is tomorrow afternoon.
I have the 23rd on my calendar as a play-day, weather permitting.

You have to get them hot, get some good smoke and they will bite.

I was letting the car roll out of the burnout at the top of third and shift to fourth. That's 90 plus mph wheel speed territory. Lol

I start in first get to around 6000 rpm then shift to 2nd and bring it back to 6000, As the tires heat you will start to lose RPM. Once I see good smoke i roll out slowly letting off the gas. No reason to be in third on a burn out.

If you was leaving it in Auto you didn't get a good enough burn out. Paddle to first, Bring it up to around 6000 then shift to 2nd and bring back up to around 6000, When you start seeing smoke roll out. Trick is to figure out how much of a burn out you need to hook so your tires last longer.

15-18psi is the usual amount I see people run.

well, I plan on trying again Saturday. You'll know if they hooked or not when viewing the for sale section. LOL
Gonna start at 17psi and work down to 15. big tire smoke then go.
