Just traded mine in on an SUV. It was a very tough call, but I wanted to have one great all around vehicle vs. one great toy and a very average daily driver. It's day 3 and, although I love the new vehicle, the Z/28 withdrawal is strong. Lol. Your Z looks awesome. Am sure it'll sell quickly. Enjoy the Cayman. Variety truly is the spice of life. :-)

Just had to run out to the garage and sit in my Z to tamp down the urge to fly out and purchase that stunning red beauty! As much as I like the original AGM that color of yours is mesmerizing. They don't call it Resale Red for nothing. You will have NO problem finding a buyer. If I didn't have mine already I'd be knocking' on your door.

Good luck on your sale. Hate to see you leave the Z family but mans got to do what mans got to do. Very good price I might add, knowing how well you took care of your Z. Thanks for all the post and questions in the past. Who ever buys this, it’s like getting 2 for 1. Red now and grey later down the years. Cheers mate. |

GLWS - you will love your GT4 - just a great car -
I think you will appreciate the lighter weight and the scapel feel of the car - versus the hammer approach of the Z. Both great cars. I would recommend for your GT4 if you decide to do exhaust that you add Cargraphic sport header (with cats) and retain stock exhaust - the sound of that combination is amazing - but not loud around the neighborhood, but under full song sounds like a best exotics. If you decide to go race exhaust then Dundon is probably your best bet. For suspension stuff a few bits from Tarrett in San Diego will give you great handling and set up options. Enjoy in good health! |

Maybe you should just keep it. I know many in our hobby who have sellers remorse. These cars are unique. I would probably sell my house before my Z. Oh wait, then I wouldn't have a garage for it. Always something.

You could try Carvana too, if Carmax tries to put it inside you. I think they quoted $32K to me a few months ago.

Yea, bad time of year for trying to get rid of them too. I've had offers for trade ins ranging from 31-36k so far from various dealerships. *Really* considered an 18 ZL1...still am kind of...but they only want to give 36k (but I get to keep stock parts if I did it, but then lose 8k worth of upgraded parts).

Ha, love it! Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion.......and yes it's a Cayman.....with GT3 parts......after driving it for a bit I've got a pretty good idea how it compares to the Z......performance wise they are very close......the Z is maybe a hair faster in the straight line (0-60 and 1/4 mile are close......down low the Z is definitely pulling harder but high RPM they both pull very hard), but they GT4 corners a bit better (I think the Z beat it at the Nurburgring, my seat of the pants tells me the GT4 has a very slight edge, but I'm not a pro driver so take it for what it's worth?). It definitely feels like the 1000 lb lighter car that it is. Interior, no comparison, GT4 interior is gorgeous, but people buying the Z don't really care about the interior.......looks are subjective. I LOVE the Z/28 looks, very aggressive, but in my humble opinion the GT4 is one of the most beautiful cars on earth, just me......you have to see it in person, pics don't do it justice. Trust me I have some serious remorse giving up the Z......I'm heading to CarMax, where I fully expect a terrible appraisal, so I'll keep it on the market. The GT4 was very much an impulse buy on my part and I'm stuck with it now......had the Z been there I may have not made the jump. But have no doubt the GT4 is an awesome car, when I'm driving it I have zero regrets.......

It took a good amount of searching to find a dealer who would pay more than 32K. for an all stock 15 Z/28. All of the Chevy dealers quoted 32k in Oct 2018. One dealer leveled with me and said they've had Zs before and they don't sell quickly enough or at all so they low-balled me more than usual b/c they just don't want to deal with it.
I know this info is out of date now but just sharing my exp. It ended up at a Ford dealer in Wilmington, NC who offered 38k so I jumped on it. I just used their trade-in calculator on the dealer's site and they honored the price given. I paid 42.5k so I took it as a decent deal. Car had 6800 miles when I purchased and ~15500 when I sold. If I had the extra funds I'd love to have another Z in my garage. Maybe one day if a 1 or 2 owner low mileage example still exists. |
