steering vibration

My cars steering wheel vibrates when i hit about 70 on up. I dont think it did this when i got it. But i started noticing it after i removed my front wheels. I but them back on the same sides too. Do i need to use a torque wrench to make them sit flat on the hub or is it something else?

You may have lost one of the weights from one of the wheels ,you should take HER to a tire shop and balance the two of them then see [drive ] at the same speed just to double check !

YES you need a torque wrench. It is well worth the investment. Try to get one that clicks when you reach the disired torque. Run all the lug nuts hand tight and then torque the lugs 1/3rd of the recomended torque using the star pattern. You can google the star pattern. Then torque to 2/3rds in the star pattern and then finally to full torque using the star pattern.

130ft/lb I think.

Every Camaro I have driven steering wheel shakes from 65-80. I rent one every week and own two. I've gone through the road force balancing, dealer trips... just realize with the stock heavy 20's and heavy tires, it shakes.

WHY should it shake , if they are balanced well does it should hold the way it should ,nice and smooth ?

You probably going to need to buy a torque wrench which is worth it

It's likely to cause more damage in the future. Better get it fixed now especially under warranty. My doesn't shake in the slightest bit. I did have a tire patched and they noted 130lbs on there for the torque. So I assume that's right.
