I believe the tops were redesigned in the middle of the 2012 model year. The number of complaints on the forum have gone way down since then. I haven't had any problems with mine and over 16,000 miles on it. Yes, I'm sure there are still a few with problems from time to time, but it seems like they have gotten much better overall.

I have a 2011 2 SS convertible
I now have a couple of issues one being the water management bag
They are prone to leaking into the backseat because of the drain tube dislodging

11s and 12s have issues..

top had a minor redesign for 2013 and the 2014 has that top.

the 11s and 12s get the redesign if you have to have it replaced,

The excessive wear is caused by the parachuting effect due to the poor design, I have this issue and my top was replaced, I am now getting a third top due to the ineptitude of the dealers outsourced shop.

I have also had my hydraulic pump replaced due to a leak.

my car is a 2012, built in April 2012, Bought in Aug 2012 and has under 13,000 miles on it.

needless to say I am not a happy owner right now, and I will be pursuing a buy back if they idiots can't get this third replacement right.

Mine is an early 2011 build.
I have experienced all the problems.
This year my top was replaced and to 2014 standards as stated on the workorder.
The shop that worked on my top spend approx. 36 hours on it.They were not happy with the way the new top was sitting, so they kept changing links out until everything lined up correctly.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the top is fixed....time will tell

Right, the tops are a heavy cloth like material, any time you fold cloth you will get wrinkles...

2014 has a whole new assembly and top, so we will need to wait a summer to see.

I'm pretty sure it's the same as the 13's.

Yup I agree. We had our top replaced in 2013 and received the new design and have not had a problem with it since. The new design is a huge improvement.

Based on what I was told a few weeks back, it is a new assembly.

gm stepped up to the plate and promptly took a huge dump in it in my case. they may be building better tops now, but i dont want a company that does business the way they did with my lemon vert. personally i'll never buy gm again.
