So, Brandi is on a lift and we are pulling the rear cradle to find and fix the fuel leak and then put it all back together.

While it's apart, I'm going to look and see if we can't get some adjustable trailing arms to replace the pieces that are in there. The webbing is bent in a couple of places. Probably from the high rpm clutch dump dead hook that occurred in Indianapolis when I twisted the input shaft and main shaft in my transmission....

If you have access to them send them my way. I'll need them by Friday or so. As much as we tried it's still going to be a thrash to be ready for the mile. My son is getting married next weekend, so Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I'll be out of town. This Monday I have jury duty, then leave on Thursday. The following week we have to finalize everything, and then I have to get the car to Blackjack for the alignment on Monday Tuesday or Wednesday.

As for today... We accomplished two big things...

In the grand scheme of things we have basically rebuilt the entire driveline since I last drove the car. New engine, new ECU, new additional fuel pump and associated accessories... New dry sump system, new motor mounting system, new transmission, new clutch, new axles, new seat, new cage, etc etc etc...

To only find two issues to this point I'm pretty impressed. When I filled the fuel tank Thursday, we found a fuel leak at a bulkhead fitting on the top driver side of the fuel tank. Well, this meant we had to pull the cradle to remove the tank. In a relatively normal Camaro, no problem. Keep in mind this car has four fuel pumps, two in the bucket and two big Weldon external pumps. It also has a spider web of fuel lines from the tank to a sump, from the tank to a pump, from the sump to a pump, and then all of this including return lines run to the front of the car. The fuel lines going forward are -12 hoses, which is bigger than a garden hose. A bunch of the fittings and hoses have to be removed as well as a substantial bundle of wiring for all this cr.. Stuff. When we got the tank out, we found the problem and ordered the appropriate items needed to fix the leak. Parts arriving in the am... From Illinois.

The next issue was the second Weldon pump. The fuel pumps are now driven by the ProEFI ECU. We were not getting any activity through several attempts to turn the pump on in test mode. Corey, Alan (electronics genius) Rob the mechanic and I dove into the problem. I held the flashlight and asked stupid questions... Digging around and checking continuity, power to the relays etc, told us that the wiring was good but there was no signal. The signal was re-pinned to another terminal and still nothing. Corey and Alan dug deep into the software and finally found the appropriate settings and walaah, it worked. Thank Goidness we all took the class on the software for ProEFI this week...

The two pumps in the tank run at high speed with no restriction to the ~~2.5 gallon sump. The primary Weldon draws from there to feed the rails via a -10 that is siamesed into a -12 right at the front of the fuel tank. This pump runs at slow speed until a set amount of boost is reached and then it flips to high speed. This set point will probably be one lb of boost.

The second external Weldon pump is also controlled by the ProEFI ECU and it remains off until a set amount of boost is reached, tuning will determine this but probably around 12 lbs. it will then kick on in high speed and feed directly from the tank via a bulkhead fitting to a -10 then to the same Siamese as mentioned above and both pumps will supply the rails via the -12 hose. These two pumps have the capacity to supply the needs of ~~3600 hp. (Flywheel) based on early guesstimates, Corey is very confident we will be well above 2k RWHP, but that's yet to be determined. We were ,as mentioned before, only at 27 % duty cycle on the fuel injectors making 862 RWHP, or 1000 plus flywheel with approximately 12-13 lbs of boost.

The ProEFI ECU system is simply amazing in its capabilities and the things it will manage, all the while providing huge protection for the engine and other systems.

The quarters we have are way too tight and intricate for properly sized hard line but that would be so cool.

We received the parts to fix the fuel leak and the tank is back together. It won't be installed back into the car until Monday morning. We are allowing a sealant to set.

So she is back together and will visit the rollers tomorrow. Corey said he is going to pressure test the intake manifold.

I'll be hiding deep in a corner somewhere... About 50 miles away... Cringing... I'm not worried about the build. I'm just not sure I'm ready to hear an LS motor howling at close to 9000 rpm's... With those two big turbos screaming a higher note than Mariah Carey can hit... By a long way...
