off road downpipe?

so ive been looking around at what i wanna do next, and i dont have the money for headers so i was looking at maybe deleting both my cats, but i cant find any off road downpipes for the LLT, closest thing is the solo highflow, but thats a bit pricey. i understand theres not a huge market for the v6 camaro like the SS, but looking around it sucks cause there are downpies for the v6 mustang. anyway i know the SS exhaust fits on the v6 any chance the ss downpipe will fit on the v6 as well? any ideas short of having a shop custom make one? lol thanks

You may want to consider OBX headers which go for like 300 bucks. Yes I know you said headers are too expensive, but you'll spend half that on a proper four cat delete anyways, and I know I'd rather keep my stock stuff so it could be replaced later on if need be.

where are you finding obx headers for 300? lt or shorties?

OBX would be the cheapest and easiest way to go IMO. Plus you get the gains from the lt too. I think I got mine for 350 which I have had for over a year and over 30k miles and still very happy.

I have to agree with Ollie and Keith. OBX is a very cheap alternative that will give you a very nice gain. I would recommend it unless money is no issue than stainless is another very good option!

i went to a local performance shop and talked to one of the guys and it was convienent cause unlike almost everyone else i talk to he actually knew a bit about the v6 cause he used to have one before he traded for SS. i asked about install on headers and he said it would be around 5-6 hours so thats gonna be a bit of money. He quoted me around 200 for all the cats deleted. but the questions i have are with our LLT can i leave the o2 sensors just unplugged cause i can just turn off or tune it out anyways right? and how raspy will i prolly get?

To be honest I am not so sure the gains which will be minimal most likely are worth $200. Most likely you will just add rasp causing you to want to get a res x pipe which is also an added expense, but you would want to add it too with Obx. Might be better to take that $200 and let it grow into enough for headers. Just a thought good luck which ever way you go and sorry not sure if the sensors need hooking up.

ya, and i dont wanna do the cat delete then not have the money for a resonated x if it sounds terrible.

On a side note but still exhaust related...our stock exhaust is 2.5 in but doesnt it go down to 2.25 at somepoint? what point does it go down to 2.25 in? thanks!

yep i went to sin city performance. i spoke with max. he seemed really cool and it was nice that he knew about our v6 unlike most places. they are were i dyno'd also. what have you had them do for you there?

so if most cat backs are 2.5 inch...that means the only difference in our stock exhaust and a cat back is the 2.25 h pipe? so if i put a 2.5in x wouldnt that be the same as a cat back? lol am i missing something here?

They installed my headers, vararam and catch can. Im gonna dyno there as well whn it cools down. Max is a good guy. I sometimes just stop by just to BS about car stuff and check out what they are working on that day. I'm actually going on Friday to have them check on some things for me, and hopefully install my isolator if it ever gets here! Lol
