Racing verts

I raced my vert for the first time last night....I am a Newb. Obviuosly I have a lot of practice to do as my best time was 14.13. Pretty disappointed I couldn't get under 14s. I have full ARH exhaust w/HFC, CAI, PTB, hurst short throw shifter and EFI Live tune. Best reaction time was .0634 but was on my slowest run. Stock tires, lowered air pressure in the rear. no burnouts. 1/2 tank fuel. I did have passengers for all but 1 run. Did 6 runs total. I know this probably isn't bad for a first timer, but are there any posted vert times on the site anywhere? I did not see anymore verts all night. What is the stock time for a vert? I would imagine it is higher than 13, as that would be for a coupe.

Thanks,

PS: I'm hooked !!!!

It was around 26 degrees Celsius at 2300ft above sea level.

Is the car manual transmission?

If so need to keep working on shift points. your 1/8th MPH is soft for the mods, I'd want to be more like 88 MPH.

Don't know why there is no 60 time. Car is M6. Working on shift points is good advice as well as getting better starts. Doing too much of a burnout on the lights.so definitely room for improvements. Do you know what the stock time is for verts?

If you are looking to improve time, kick everyone out the car and run solo. You said passenger(s) as if there was more than just one. That extra weight is hurting you. What are your launches like? If you are having wheel spin and a lot of it are you dumping the clutch? Should be riding it out for a second or two when launching.

Yup....no more passengers. Gotta stop the wheel spin and get my shifts right. These 3 things are definitely hurting me.

How's your suspension? I do AutoX and canyon carving, but many of the components I have would be good for drag racing also. Hotchkis 1" springs, Pfadt ZL spec sway bars and upper control arm bushings. Spohn trailing arms and toe links and Prothane cradle and radius rod bushings. Suspension is your foundation. I would at least do trailing arms and cradle bushings.
