does the ls3s let you money shift?

Say youre near redline in third, will it let you accidentally shift into second instead of fourth?

I've never tried, but to be honest I don't know how you could accidentally shift to second. It would take some effort on your part to do it.

Yes, but it would just hit rev limiter and kill the power.

My friend went into 2nd looking for 4th while getting on the highway... it was the first and last time he drove it. Odd too since he's been driving a stick his entire life.

yes It will let you... and its dangerous you loose all traction if you do this for a second. It happened to me on highway aswell I think I was going like 90 and shifted to 3rd instead of 5th and the car literally did a little slide from side to side.

Yeah itll kill your power, but your engine will go way above the rev limiter due to momentum.

Rev limiter doesn't kick in on downshifts. You can f*ck up your engine on a high RPM downshift in these cars.

You are lucky. If it didn't break traction, it would have overspun the engine and potentially damaged it (or perhaps damaged some other part of the drive train). The rev limiter can't do anything about it when the drive train forces the engine rpms over the redline.

It tells you "Shift Denied" and doesn't let you downshift.

Are you being serious?

If you really wanna find out, top out third, step on the clutch, shift to 2nd and DONT LET OFF THE CLUTCH.

Ive actually never accidentally hit 2nd instead of 4th in my car, but ive seen a couple friends do it in the LS1 6-speed F-Bodys.

The first one that did it mechanically overreved the LS1 and bent 8 out 16 pushrods and all 8 pistons had tiny valve smileys on them. The engine was otherwise still in good shape. We rebuilt the heads and put a cam in it after that and it was good to go.

The stock "flimsy" pushrods are a huge lifesaver for this, lol.

Sorry, I read LS3 in the title, but saw L99 in the OP's signature. L99's will say shift denied. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you about LS3's.
