2010 Camaro SS
Alright dudes. I don’t even know if I am in the right spot to be asking this question. But I’m having an issue and any help would be appreciated.
Just put on new wheels 315s on the rear 275s up front. Anytime I go passed 70mph the car starts to shake. It’s not the balance or alignment, got it checked twice. I hear a ticking coming from the right side and both back brake cables are fraying. Lugs are tight and it’s not the engine cuz when I cut the power to the trans it still does it. Any ideas? |

One of your wheels are bent. Put the bent wheel in the right rear. As far as the brake cable fraying...time for steel braided brake lines.

Or you may have a bubble or a wave in your tires. Put your tire pressure at 32.
Hell they could even be flat spotted from sitting. Just some wild guesses. |

What wheel size and offset? Sounds like the wheel or tire may be rubbing.

So how could I tell if it’s bent? They are brand new?

Are the back brake cables the emergency brake cables? Tie them back to stop them from contacting the wheel.

typically steering shake is from front and feeling vibration in floor or seat is rear. this may help isolate it.

Perhaps you have the wrong lug nuts? Sometimes the factory ones aren't correct with aftermarket wheels and your wheels may be loose on your lugs even though the lugs are tight on the wheels or lugs.

Factory wheels are hub centric, the wheel needs to fit the hub to line up properly. I’ve got spacers for the American wheels I have on my car.
Front ends seem to be sensitive sometimes on these cars. The badly unskilled that mounted my last set of new rubber just couldn’t get the front correct. Had another shop re mount and re balance and it was much better. They took the time to spin and remount the tire a couple of times to use the least amount of weight possible. |

Yes. But I don’t know if I can or not?
Recommendations Also what wheel spacers should I get? Last edited by Glyons011; 08-02-2021 at 09:55 PM. |
