They clearly don't think this stuff through.
i believe this because,3 is a hell of a ''crowd" in a corvette!
at least ya can put a "dog",or a small boy in the back of a zl1!..(lol) he he he!

That's why it weighs 4120lbs in ZL1 trim.
Did you forget just not too long ago the government bought most of GM out of their debt? Wouldn't it make sense that they put the marks where their money is? Just sayin'! But on a more serious note...I had a bad wreck on Friday that I was fortunate enough to walk away from and the vehicle's quality plus God's hand was why I walked away in one piece after being side swiped and going four lanes off the road up in the air and rolling 5 times in morning rush hour traffic in DFW I20 thats little short of a miracle. But if and when I post the pics here of the 08' Trailblazer (3)SS RWD 390hp/400torque you will see the quality of production. Ratings are good but we are not all race car drivers or in my case crash test dummies!

the ZL1 was never intended to be a high production car. That's why they have the lower models and that's why the Camaro has outsold the Mustang since it came back.

i agree! (a.d.m) stickers are insulting on ANY car! unless it's a 'charitable" organization,
i refuse to pay a "dealer imposed "mark-up"! making a "gift" of money to a car dealer,is NOT something i aspire to!..just sayin'

take that same
$54,995 + $900 + 500 suede accents = 56395.65 +7% sales tax = $60,342.65 at 72 months and 3.9% interest = $941.32.

All this is without title, document fees and license plate. Kindof an eye opener.

Not to sound harsh, but if someone needs to finance pretty much the entire price of this car at a 72 month loan, they really have no business trying to buy a car remotely in this price range to begin with.

That should be the real eye opener.

7:22.68 Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06 (2012)
7:41.27 Camaro ZL1 (2012)

Everyone has to understand how INCREDIBLY good the ZL1 is, not could be, IS to post a 7:41

Upgrading components for a faster Ring run is going to take a huge leap forward in running gear. Read that as BIG BUCKS. The OE Brembos on the ZL1 are very good. A GT Brembo kit would be better, but not enough better to be looking at a 7:19 or to be a Pedders part. Pedders brakes would have to be forged aluminum CNC finished calipers, recessed dust boots, titanium thermal management, vented piston inserts, integral air ducts to cool the inserts, ultra light weight hats, ultra light weight fasteners and race rotors. These would be racing brakes with daily driver durability. They would fit with a Pedders Justice Suspension and they would carry a steep retail price. A similar Brembo Racing Brake Kit retails for $20,000. The components of a Pedders brake kit would be the epitome of functionality as well as automotive art.

A Camaro would these brakes would be faster on a road course Taking a Camaro to a higher level of performance than a ZL1 is not going to be cheap. Chevrolet has done a brilliant job with the ZL1. Can it be better, oh maybe we have been thinking about that for the last two years

I wish it was as simple as simple as lose some weight. We have been down that road with the lighter Mustang vs the IRS Camaro. The Camaro edged out the Mustang lap after lap finding greater speed in the corners because of the heavier IRS. You can throw all the RWHP at a Mustang you want and that live rear axle is going to struggle to put it down in a turn. With the Camaro we have a good idea what it would take to try and run a 7:20 or 21 with a full amenity street car.

"smart money" says wait until they "pile" up at your dealer, then watch 'em scramble to move 'em! as great as the vehicle is,chevy CAN get caught with their "pants down" and build too many! gotta be careful going forward! they are NOT exactly giving 'em away!..just sayin'

With the MR lowering is restricted. We'll have a slight drop coil set that is a bit higher in rate, but MR does not like big drops. Supercar coilover conversions will be available

2012 limited by available build time. 13 is an open order book. I can see Chevrolet throwing the party of the next 100 years if they have soooo many ZL1 orders in 2013 they can't build them all.
