Nightforce are good, zeiss, heck even an illuminated reticle Leupold will work great.

I like Nikon Monarch's, but I don't shoot out to 1000 yards so I don't know what they are like out that far.

Is it .223 or 5.56?

Anyone reloading their own? .308 with a 22" barrel 1-10" twist, I'm looking at Barnes Match Burner Match Rifle Bullets in 175 grain, $27 per 100... considerably cheaper than Sierra Match at $39 per 100.

Any feedback on the Barnes bullets?

Barnes bullet spec's
Diameter .308"
Weight 175 gr
Description BT Match
S.D. .264
B.C. .521
LG 1.332

Nope. You read that right. I threw an obscene figure out since I have no clue what the very high quality optics run price-wise.

Yes I reload for my .300 RUM and soon for my .45 Auto. I don't have experience with those bullets. Sorry.

I have the dies on order. Found factory loaded Hornady A-MAX 168 gr..... put 5 thru the barrel this morning. Compared to the WIN 150gr I was shooting, it's an amazing improvement! 150 is just too light for a 1-10 twist apparently.

@100 yards 5 shot group tightened up from 4" (win 150gr) to just a touch over 1.5" (Hornady 168gr) ... and that was off of a bench pillow, not perfectly sturdy but it works in a rush.

After a bit of load tweaking, and DEFINITELY a new stock, factory stock is worst I've ever seen, I'm thinking I'm going to like this Savage 10! Love the new Accu-trigger, set at 1.5 lb.,it's shweet!

I'm going to try 100 of the Barnes, 100 of the Hornady in 168gr, and maybe 100 Hornady in 180gr with Varget from light to heavy, see what happens.

I've never had the pleasure of shooting with a high dollar scope, but there are a LOT of good selections under a grand... Swarovski, Nikon, Leupold, etc... some are real sleepers, inexpensive but competitive with scopes considerably higher.... that's where I shop

Anyone interested in buying my 4" Chiappa Rhino, or trading it for a 2" Rhino, or something else in a concealable package?
