I've had a few paint chips on mine. However, since I installed the splash guards, I haven't had any. Bought the touch up paint to fix the ones before the splash guards and it's hard to find them now. Drove through a black top job yesterday with stones flying everywhere. Checked the car afterwords, not one chip.

I haven't seen anything that anyone has posted that is any different than any other new car other there (Ford, Chrysler, BMW, Mercedes..etc.).

If you don't want ANY chips... don't drive it. Well, either that or put 3M's clear bra on every available surface.

I have had only 3 chips on the front bumper from a BIG rock that hit me, ANY car would have had the paint chip from a hit like that..

What paint chip problem?

Let me see if I am reading this correctly; There are people who drive 75-80 mph on rock and debris strewn highways and freeways behind trucks, buses, gravel trains, etc, and they want GM to guarantee that their car won't get stone chips...really?

Its not the fact that they get chipped. It just seems that the paint is very thin and chips easily.

I do not know if you are the same person Dwelling on this subject, but since 1999 I have owned 3 New Toyota trucks, 3 New Honda Auto's, and 3 New Acura TL's, they ALL got
paint chips. My New Camaro with 15,000 miles in 8 months is NO different then the other
9 New Vehicles I owned previuosly. Maybe???? You have a Lemon paint job, OR you
drive on some really crappy roads????

Good luck I guess ????

I would classify my chips as minor ones because they are very small however I have A LOT of them considering the low mileage on my car, the fact that I have mud flaps, the fact that I didn't drive it this winter when there was gravel all over the road, the fact that I don't tailgate, AND the way I meticulously care for my car.

It's disappointing that with only 8k miles on the car I am having to think about getting it repainted. :(
