Thinking of adding sub B/A in ZL1 ??

well I'm 90% satisfied with the stock B/A system in this car but it needs more Bass was thinking about adding a 10" - has done well for me in my old Firehawk saw this thread https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=495428
or what else can be done to get me a bot more thump to it?

please explain this as I'm a amateur at sound systems

single 10 on 300+wRms. If you want quality, JL is great, stealthbox is snug fit. a good amp will drive it. OR something of a pre-fab boxand a off the shelf 10, but it may be hit or miss if the sub plays well in the box.

You will need a line converter ( RECOMMEND lc2i )
Amplifier wiring kit ( dont cheap out here, get OFC, by kicker, knukonceptz kolossus, or stinger pro )
amplifier
Sub and box
1-5/8" screws
time
FARK by suubthuump

You can do it yourself, if you take time.

The RF 10" self-powered sub would do it. Fits like a glove. That's what I have in mine and it sounds fantastic!

What about a Bazooka Tube? I had a 10" one in my old 3rd Gen Camaro back in the day and it added a little thump which helped. Anyone done this?

Someone here had one and they mentioned it didn't sound as good as the self-powered sub.

I would reccomend something more high end. You have a nice car buy a nice sub and amp. Try a fi q neo, a jl w7, or image dynamics idmax. For your amp go with, arc audio, jl XD series, zapco, or focal. You will want the fark harness and a good ofc 4 gauge kit. Have a box custom made or buy one specially made for your sub. A Rockford fosgate sub in a premade box won't even come close to any of those combos in clarity, power, low end response. A system like that belongs in a Ford focus not a zl1. I reccomend an idmax 10 v4 d4 in a lab slapbox and a jl xd 1000.

As much snake oil as in the car audio industry these days makes me believe I could make some serious hobby money on the side. Seems people will believe and buy anything being advertised as 'convenient' or 'plug and play'.

I noticed most of these replies are a few months old. I added a Rockford Fosgate P300-10” Model. Between that and the sub thump(er) harness, it was great. I didn’t change my factory radio for a long time, until recently. The 10” model fit perfectly under the metal brace of the back seat. I made a couple of custom brackets out of L brackets and they are secure and the box doesn’t move.
