ZL1 catalytic converters on an LS3

I know they are different part numbers and ZL1 cats are more $’s. Likely because of stainless steel exterior. Are they different inside and is it ok to use them on an LS3?

No issues with stock cats, cats came with ZL1 manifolds I bought. Thought I’d install them as well.

I suspect so, installed them today. Seem fine.

Was an open day at the track so I gave it a try. Lots of corners but could open up on straight sections. Didn’t know 3rd is good to 100 mph. Maybe it’s the cats

I’ve had 3rd to 120 and 4th to 145 with 3.91 gears.

I stopped around 6200 rpm.

What rpm is 120 in third with 3.91 gears?

Put in your gear ratio (3.91), your target speed (120mph) and your tire diameter.

Then.....click the "Compute RPM" button. If you're running a 28" diameter tire, then it would be 5630 RPMs.

KW

That Calculator is Assuming 1:1 Ratio in Transmission.
With the SS Manual Trans 3rd gear 1.43
RPM would be approx. 8050 with 28" Diameter tire
