Can I run a Metco breather with my Maggie?

Any benefit? I've got an Apex catch can on there now and was looking to add a breather but isn't it a closed PCV system?

Prob not a good idea. The Metco breather doesn't have a check valve. It will allow unmetered air back into the engine and cause some issues. Get one with a check valve.

Thanks, Jamie. Would this Mightymouse one work well for $70?

I can't tell if it has a check valve. Any breather with a check valve will work.

I use the Rx breather with check valve, no issues at all.

Hmm the MightyMouse one might work well. Here is a message about it from the owner

"yes there is a large disc inside the breather that lets any positive pressure freely exit, and when vacuum returns to the crank case it seals to keep the stock pcv routing and function intact."

The Trick is to have the Valve oriented the right way, It must let crankcase Pressure out but not let atmospheric air in.

Any check valve will not work, we tested a lot of valves before we found one that would holdup and was light enough to open with even the slightest Pressure.

Stock, this breather does NOT work properly. It inhales, not exhales.
I modded one and it works the opposite. But I switched to Holley valve covers and don't use it now.

Is there not a modded metco that has a proper check valve? I thought that was what is in his link?

that's what I thought. If you buy an off the shelf METCO I know it does NOT have the check valve. I asked Summit. .
