Hi

Hey everyone, my name is Josh, and I just bought a 2012 1LT. This is my 4th F-Body car, and ever since they came out in 2010, I haven't stopped wanting one. I am coming up on my graduation of my MBA (first person in my family to even go to college) and decided I was going to finally own one.

I bought the car used, was owned by an elderly gentleman who only traded it in because his wife wanted a convertible. It has 29k miles on the 3.6, and the 6 speed makes it a fun car to drive. I traded in my previous work car that I used before I went back to graduate school, a 2012 sonic LTZ. Great car, but no camaro.

Here are some pictures

Plans are simple, make it an SS clone, and it be my daily driver work car. I wanted the fuel efficiency of the LT, but the look of the SS. So far, I have acquired a set of factory SS take-offs, then had them powdercoated metallic grey. Also picked up a CAI to complement the Borla exhaust that the previous owner installed.

Things still left to do:

Install new wheels
SS front bumper
RS headlights
Remove side stripes
Install Dark Grey rally stripes

Welcome to the 1LT club.

One thing I noticed in the picture of your interior you may have some bubbling of the dash insert. You need to check to make sure by rubbing your hand across it and see if it feels like a air bubble under it. If there is, take it to the dealer and have it replaced. It is a known issue with some 12 models.

Right here where I have circled looks like a big bubble. Another place could also be right above the radio on the little ledge there. Just press on those places, if there are bubbles you will either see where you pushed it down or maybe even hear it stick and release.

As a new owner I just wanted to let you know you could have that issue, it may have just been the lighting on the dash that made it look that way, you never know.

Josh, CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
