Talking First lowered ZL1......

As the tile says, not sure if it has already been done but we did it again!!

We were the first to lower a 6th Gen and now we are back at it again lowering a ZL1!! Have a look at the results!!

We measured and triple checked everything before we did a full install. I have got plenty more pictures that we are loading that will show how much of a drop we got. I will post up some pictures when they are all done.

A little background on the car. The car has 920 miles on it, owner wanted to close the gap a bit on the front wheels but did not want to slam the car to the ground. Still wanted to be able to get in and out of the driveway with out any issues.

STOCK measurements (From ground to Top of fender):
Front Driver - 28 7/8"
Rear Driver - 28 3/4"

Front Passenger - 28 15/16"
Rear Passenger - 28 3/4"

After measurements (From ground to Top of fender):
Front Driver - 27 1/2"
Rear Driver - 28 3/8"

Front Passenger - 27 9/16"
Rear Passenger - 28 1/4"

Looks great, probably going to do it too. So what's it going to take and what's it going to cost to have this done or have the parts to get it done? Springs and some small adjustments?

Also, does anyone have an idea of why the front ends sit up so high? Is it for regulations, functionality, or a mistake???

Doesn't look like the rear needs lowering. The front lowering made a difference though.

Part of the problem is the tire size from front to rear in diameter. The fronts are 1/2" shorter overall than the rears causing it to look like the front fenders are higher when in all actuality they are the same height.

Yeah,.....the front definitely went down. Looks a lot better.
Not much lowering in the rear though.

That's partly right. Phasetek proved the heights are different with their measurements. The front is sitting higher even with a shorter tire in front, so it's a combination of the tire and the stock ride height. The pre-production models had an even looking fender gap front to rear, so GM changed that for some reason and so far no one has told us why.

I really like the looks of the lower front!

Good question. And are they progressive or linear?

What affects are there, if any, to the magnetic ride?

...and if desired, is it possible to go any lower without any major issues?
