license plate protection?

Hey guys, I have a license plate frame over my license plate (in the rear). It is one I bought from amazon a while back, a carbon fiber one. It has some rough edges on the back of the frame and so far its not hurt the paint on the car but I am paranoid and wanting to know what you guys would recommend on how I should protect it? I have put some little rubber bumpers behind the actual license plate itselt so the plate isnt touching but the frame still is. I have thought about buying some rubber trim from amazon and basically making a rubber bumper on the back of the frame so incase it hits the paint there will be padding. Or I have thought about ordering some 3m paint protecting film to apply to the license plate area.

Thoughts?

Personally, I’d go with no frame. Simple “clean” look is always good.

I had the same concerns when I first got my plates. I went to the local auto parts store and bought a rubber lip plate frame. It's made completely out of rubber and it fits around the license plate. It's a very clean look and nothing rests against the paint except the rubber part.

How about some simple narrow weatherstripping you can buy by the roll at your local home center.?
