I work for Farmers Insurance so I see all the time, sadly since your young and driving a muscle car the cost of Insurance will take a big price increase. I would guess around $160-180 a month with a ticket.

However if its your first ticket you can take traffic school online, so it wont count towards your insurance!

That's a rude assumption.. If his "daddy" was going to pay the ticket why would he even care about the cost?? For all you know he works 40 hours a week?

When I was 18 I worked 40 hours a week + college and bought a 2012 SS camaro..... without my "daddy" helping me.

OP, you need to assume the worst regarding your insurance rates. I see posters gIving you varying advice. As an attorney I'll say, generally, we have fifty states so we have fifty separate legal systems and someone in Virginia isn't necessarily giving you good specific advice for the law and procedure in Florida. I'll say, generally, go to court because you may get lucky and the officer may forget her court date. Otherwise, make the state prove its case against you. You don't have to testify or offer evidence; it's your right hear the evidence against you. Good luck!

I purchased a brand new 2012 Chevy Camaro in 2012 when I was 17, and in highschool. Without any help from my family. I'm twenty now, and own my own company, again, without help from my family. So please, keep your snide marks to yourself. I'm sure you were plenty spoiled with all that entitlement you have.

I'm a Floridian as well. Take it to court and ask for saturday court. The magistrate will job it since your driving record is clean, and you will just have to pay court costs, which are slightly less than the ticket. So no points, and less money. Good luck!

I've won in court every time by being just that: honest.

for 9mph over the speed limit, the cop was just out to make quota.
disregard him.

Your case is between you and the judge. most often, they're lenient.

Was it wrong of me to LOL at this?!

However...I'm not saying this is necessarily true in the OP's case.
