Looking for input/advice!

Hi Everyone! I have a 2012 Camaro LS1 and I have been interested in putting in Halo Headlights - I would prefer to get OEM SS headlights if I can, if I can't, I would like some decent ones. I have been checking Craigslist & Ebay Motors. I went through a local Chevy dealership and they want $2,000 for them installed. I would also prefer not to have to bake them to get them apart.

I have a friend who can install them. What exactly should I be looking for in terms of the headlight units, harnesses (special parts) so I can be sure I am buying what he will need to put them in and have no issues with them working?

Thanks for your help!!

Dee

Dee,

I think one of the other vendors here sells headlights that come with halos pre-installed for way less than $2000. I'm not sure which one it is though. If you get aftermarket units, they should come wired up already to your parking light so you can just plug them in and go. I wouldn't go through the trouble of getting the OEM lights.

We do have some good OEM-style halo kits available if you do decide to bake them! We have the lowest pricing around on the kits, just PM me if you want any more info. Baking them is scary until you do it... it's really not too bad.

Thanks,
Nick C.

Why exactly do you want the halo lights? Are you just looking for the halo itself, or do you also want the HID headlights? If you just want the halo, I would add an aftermarket halo to your existing lights (even though they must be taken apart to do this). There are several companies that sell add on halos, but Oracle seems to be one of the more popular. The kit should come with everything you need.

As you know, getting facory RS halo lights is expensive and they aren't just plug and play. You would need an adaptor harness like this one.

Definitely don't pay a dealer to do this. You can find used factory lights for sale and I usually see them in the $200 - $300 range.

Good luck.
