Had fun at Canal Fest (NT Side) along with Sunset6928! The street was full of people all night long!
I didn't get much chance to wander except to get food, so I didn't see any of the cars on the Tonawanda side of the bridge.
I did give out a C5 card to a couple with a black 5th gen with Rally Yellow stripes. It looked cool, like a negative Bumble Bee!
They seemed excited about their car, hope they join up.

I was wandering around Canal Fest last night! It was packed & very hot! We took the 65 Mustang up there. I am currently looking to make my first "mod" - I would like to get decent Halo headlights and get them put in. I have a friend who is a mechanic and can put them in, but don't know where to start as to what to buy! It would be for a 2012 LS1 and I noticed some of the ads on eBay say that it isn't compatible with some headlights. Sheesh - too confusing for this newbie!

Sunset and I where wondering if you would go. Sorry we missed you. You could have checked our halos. You might be better off buying them from AAC/Oracle. They are a little pricey, but guaranteed to fit, and work for life.

Great time with Wolfco and his wife last night. There were some nice cars there, but I think Jon and I stole the Show. As usual! Dewag, wish you would have stopped to see us on the NT side.

I saw your cars, but wasn't sure it was you! The headlights look fantastic BTW! If I go through Oracle to get them - do they come with everything I need to have them installed? Is there a special harness or anything like that I would need to get?

Your best bet is to talk with Wolfco(Jon). My son bought me everything for Father's Day. I went to an authorized Oracle installer on Niagara Falls Blvd. in the Falls. Do not go there(Kendzia Auto). Everything comes with the Halos that you need. I believe you have to almost take the whole front of you car off to install. Very time consuming. Pm me, I will give you my phone number to talk.

Technically, yes, but a lot depends on the type of controller/remote you choose, and weather or not you feel the need to control them from the drivers seat. Some use a radio signal that you only have to be near the car. Some use IR, which needs line of sight from remote to controller. The wires on the halos are not long enough to reach into the cabin, where you might want the controller if it is to sync to your music. So they may need to be extended. individually or together according to how you want it to work. (If you have a very cool rolling DJ system nearby, like we did , it doesn't matter where your controller is.) The Oracle halo kit price includes a controller. These controllers by themselves may be much cheaper elsewhere, but it's part of the deal here if you want these halos. You can actually choose from several, and are not limited to the one in the video. Check out their "Products" pages, not just the "Camaro" pages. You may also find halos cheaper elsewhere, but I didn't look too much for those for reasons already stated, and it is good to support the site sponsors that support us, when financially reasonable.
I wanted to be different, so I chose their music controller, (same price as 2.0 controller) and used it for my "inside" LEDs. I wanted my halos and ground effects to "breath", and had to go elsewhere for that function.
If you are planning to have someone install it for you, ask for references. Being listed as an "official" Oracle installer is not good enough by itself. It can be a big job. I work in the electrical trade, and my install was actually several months of casual planning, and about 1 week of labor, a few hours at a time, spread out over 3 weeks. But it was a labor of love. (And it's not finished yet. )
I've wanted to do something like this forever, and technology has finally made it possible, easier and cheaper. I purchased my halos on this sale thread that seems to still be live:

BTW..If you want to see another really cool LED project, check out nicave13@gmail.com's build thread:

I found a set (whole units) that are plug & play. Just need to decide if I want Chrome or black. My husband thinks the chrome backing will make them brighter and easier to see - I checked with my friend who works for Volvo and can install them and he checked them out and said yes so now it's down to deciding between the 2.

Cool. The Oracle rings have the LEDs edge to edge so that you cannot see the white circuit board behind them. If you are using ones similar to the inner headlight rings that nicave13 uses in the later part of his thread, you may want to get the black ones. The LEDs do not reflect off the circuit board, black or chrome is to help them blend in with the internal structure of the headlight assembly.

Edit: I see you said you have a LS, does that mean you don't currently have the halos, but a reflector headlight? Go Chrome.

As it would turn out, Carid has the halos that I want, but they tell me they are not compatible with my factory headlight set up. Oh well. I wanted the solid rings - the ones that look just like the ones on an SS.

Check out the Oracle halos. They have single, dual and multicolored halos for both RS and NON-RS Camaro headlights, starting at $169.
