Radio is ghostly connecting

So recently my factory radio has been connecting to my cellphone via bluetooth when the car is off. It's never done that before. I also noticed that I can turn the radio on without the key being in the ignition. Is this something that I haven't noticed before or is my radio possessed?

Unbelievable. Mine started doing this yesterday and I cannot figure it out for the life of me. It sucks, my phone was ringing all day and I would try to answer and nothing. Then I realized it was connected to Bluetooth.

You can turn the radio on without the key. It's a feature

you can power on the radio w/o the key inserted, but it'll eventually turn off to save the battery.

I've had my car for four years and over 90,000 miles and it has never done this until yesterday. The radio eventually powers down but blue tooth stays connected unless I manually turn it off.

Also just realized with the key removed from the ignition when you open the door the radio doesn't shut off, it always did in the past.

Starting to piss me off. Every time the phone rings it transfers to my cay and I have to manually turn on the phone ear piece. My customers are getting annoyed as well. Got to figure this out.

Disable bluetooth on your phone.

Yes, I do that but I make my living on the phone, when in my car I use bluetooth so remembering to turn it on and off is a pain. It's never been an issue until now so something is not right.

I can certainly turn off the bluetooth, but if I forget its annoying. This never happened before, still need to figure out why it's happening.

Did you recently get a new phone? If not, what kind of phone is it?

Step 1: Have the bluetooth radio reset by the dealer.
Step 2: No more problems.

But seriously, if you have a android there are dozens of built in toggle buttons that can go right on your main screen, notification window, etc to switch Bluetooth on and off instantly. If you have SmartActions you can set it to turn on your Bluetooth every time you plug it into your charger (car), or a number of other triggers as well.

Maybe it's the part of the ignition switch that detects when the key has been removed. Do your doors unlock when you take out the key?
