[Need4Camaro]

I typically find my job alot easier when people don't know that I drive a nice car... and especially when they don't know I own TWO Camaro's ...jealousy and rage ensues my career when people find me in the parking lot with an SS...or a secondary car as a Z28

I moved to Texas not long ago for a new job. I've been hiding my Camaro by parking it WAY out and leaving after everyone else leaves. I thought they onboarded us at the same salary but later came to find I was actually onboarded as one of the higher paid employees and mostly everyone else makes less than me and...well...I get alot of "silent" flack about it... ...and they also eventually found out about my SS ... ... so whenever I have questions or need assistance I pretty much am SOL.

Anyone else in this boat?

Who cares what they think? I park both of my Camaros, one an SS and the other a 1LE right behind the owner's truck.

Screw them all! Base price on an SS is just a bit more than a fully loaded Toyota Camry...it's not like these cars are Ferraris.

jealous, a camry with a 6cyl is 38k without many extras rather have a SS even if it's a little more with a 8cyl for that price. only paid 29k before taxes for my 6cyl.

I get where you are coming from OP, but no I don't hide it.

The reason some may legitimately care what others in their office think, is that people who have power over your career may be jealous or come to other conclusions about you based on the car you drive: He's making too much money (so he doesn't need a raise), or he spends money on things that are superficial, (so again, no raise / promotion). I've seen it.

I suspect that if my coworkers saw my house they'd be even more pissed / jealous / wondering if I got an inheritance etc.

and yes, we all know that the Camaro is not some super expensive car, but when it's your third (toy) then it does become a "thing" for people to be judgmental. A Camry or Truck or whatever might be as expensive or even much more (loaded Silverado) are so common and "Practical" they don't get the same scrutiny.

I paid $38K for my almost fully loaded 2SS (should've got the 6-piston brakes).

I owned 3 at once until I sold my iroc a couple months ago. Drove em all to work too (not at once, obviously). I've had a comment here and there but largely people have been fine. The day I have to hide the spoils of my labor from a bunch of green-eyed douchebags is the day I find another job.

Some people make $30k annually and can save a lot of it, some people make $500k and can't save any and are in debt. Salary does not equal wealth or buying power always. So just because you make a little more, doesn't mean you wern't able to save your cash and spend it on a fun car, when they were squandering it away on cigs, women (or dudes if you're into that), drugs, or going out to lunch daily.

i park mine way out in the parking lot because i dont want door dings.some people have remarked about my nice car,but its not the only nice one in our parking lot,so it doesnt get much attention.
