6L90
Since we have already highjacked this guys thread here.
What are the considerations for the 6L90 swap? I know it's a couple inches longer and I think the bell housing has a hump on it? Fill us in a couple key details. The 6L80s are a struggle for anything over 630. I have seen enough to you AGP guys know your stuff. I'm no turbo fan but you guys know what you're talking about. |

Since the housing is longer, you need a shorter driveshaft. DSS can build that, but adds to cost. Then, since you're in there, time to do a converter if you haven't already. Then at that point you may as well do the rear and axles too. I'm currently collecting info and dollars to do it all at one time.

6L90 swap
I have heard that the top of the 6L90 case hits the trans tunnel. Don't know for sure if it's true. I would want to know before I got into it.

Do not use a truck 6L90, it has a totally different tail section. You need an actual ZL1 trans and cross member. Have the front section of your driveshaft shortened 1.4"
Do a Write Entire on the TCM with HPTuners to put your tune file in the trans. The dealership doesn't have to flash anything. Done. The 6L90 fits exactly the same as 6L80 other than being 1.4" longer. |

Well I am running 773 RWHP with a D1SC, cam, Meth, heads, intake mid, and a few other mods. My trans lasted like two days. Had it rebuilt by GPI and then had my Circle D Converter re-stalled from A 4C to a 2C. No issues so far Ran a 10.14 with it spinning hard coming out of the hole.

6L90
As usual these AGP guys know their stuff. 6L90 it is. You know what they say. The devil is in the details. 1.4 inches is the number I need.
