per the Corvette forum, Dennis Fichtner is now at Laurel Chevrolet in Laurel, Mt. I think Ken is there now as well.

The time and mileage starts from the purchase date of the plan. The prices will be adjusted according to your mileage, how much warranty you have remaining. My brother has a 2019 but had a lot more miles then me and his was 1050 for the same plan. His reads the same as mine. 4 years and 48k mile from yesterday.

I hear what your saying. but the 48k is 48k limit. you don't tack on your existing mileage. Its her mistake not yours.

I posted the contract page. I’ll take an apology after you read it.
Your contract extends the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty to 4/48. You bought one additional year of coverage because it starts from the new car warranty. No apology needed.

NEVERDIE, both me and you are on the same page. But look at his PDF contract. The dealer made a mistake for sure on both the date and mileage!

Lol. Your the idiot. I have bumper to bumper till 2024, the car is a 2018. Your wrong. I bought a 4/48 but will only benefit three years of it. Maybe you should grab a Calculator and re-check the math. Look at the end terms I posted it a few posts above. Ends 8/2024. Try the math again.

Pauly, I don't know how this will shake out in the end. Neverdie is correct about the 4/48. The person who wrote the mileage and date on the contract is dead wrong!!

The insurance company is really only covering 1 year of warranty on a car under 60k miles. Most people do not have 10K on these cars because they are toys, let alone 52k in 4 years. And, if it's a daily, you're toast any way because you go over the mileage within the 4 years.

Chances are you'll never use the warranty and it's free money for them.

There is another post on ZL1 side that has people with the same terms. There is a lot of confusion about these warranties. I always thought they started from purchase date of the car also. I was reading through them the other day and that is what got me looking into it. Others have posted similar time lines as mine. The whole purpose of the post was to update the contact person at the dealer. I also updated that post but I didn’t start that one.

Your probably right. There risk is low because of the drivetrain warranty. But for such a low cost the bumper to bumper is nice to have. That could be a few fuel injectors alone.

I know how it will work out. The contract is worded so that the 4/48 entirely supersedes all of the other numbers. Regardless of the mistake, the pricing reflects this. This will be considered a clerical error and the vehicle will be covered until 4 years or 48K miles under this warranty which is 1 year and 12K miles more than the factory bumper to bumper warranty.

Again, this is reflected in the price and it is quite obvious. Feel free to post the entire contract instead of just this excerpt if you'd like me to point out the exact legal wording that explains this. Legal contracts are specifically written this way to eliminate the issue of human error. I write legal contracts for a living, this is very easy for me.

Check the similar post in the ZL1 section, there are several guys that have contracts all worded the same as mine. Coverage started the day the contract is purchased, or technically 30 days after the purchase date. I guess all of them are wrong? Why would they offer me a 24 month option now that 24 months is over? Makes no sense. Everyone that stated the terms was just like mine.

So just to check I called 2 separate dealers today because of all the confusion. I specifically asked the terms and they both said the same thing, for platinum the coverage starts the day of the warranty purchase with a max mileage of 150,000 miles. Of course the sooner you buy the cheaper but the clock starts the day of the warranty purchase not the car which also matches my contract.

FWIW, this copy of a GM extended warranty contract shows both a "Platinum" and a "Platinum Wrap" policy.

The "Platinum" coverage period is described as Pauly claims. The coverage starts on the contract purchase date and mileage is derived by adding the miles of coverage to the odometer mileage. (Contract page 1, pdf page 2)

The "Platinum Wrap" coverage starts on the "Vehicle In-Service Date". (Contract page 2, pdf page 3)

Warranty Contract: https://www.knappvehicleservicecontr...e_contract.pdf

I hope this helps.

No expertise implied or expressed.
