GM is selling a 550 hp CTS for less than 60 000, so the Camaro with the same engine must cost less than that. As for GM dying, it is only their North American operations that they are losing on. Everywhere else they are doing fine. Even in North America they have reduced their operating costs substantially in the past year, and last September when auto sales plumeted by 28%, GM's sales only went down 15.5% and raised their market share from 23% to 29%.

yeah... but how many people do you know that race their CTS-Vs compared to how many race their Camaros?

I have been getting info a little here and a little there sugesting that GM will not make the Z28, but that there will be a Z28 package available from Saleen. Any word on this, and if you dont know about this or are just typing to read your own words then just dont type any thing. It is kind of like when people talk just to here them self talk. It is a major pain in the ass.

GM has never allowed Mustang to be the top dog muscle car. There will be a Camaro with at least 500hp.

Not true. Mustang had more power in the early to mid 80's.

Plus it isn't technically a Mustang, it's a Cobra. The 03-04 Cobras had more power than the 1998-2002 Camaro SS and GM didn't release an OMGWTFBBQ power Camaro just to compete with that.

Since the GT500 has 475hp (go ahead and tell me 500, it doesn't) and weighs 300lbs+ more, a 2010 SS can still compete with that (for 10-20k cheaper). It will be just like the battles between previous models I mentioned, mostly a driver's race with an advantage to the GT500.

Oh do tell? Exactly what position did this GM employee hold? Does he drive an Escalade or a Cobalt? That's 3 years from now and too long for me to wait. I'll trade my 2010 car in - it will only be 2 years old!
