I hate putting miles on it, but at the same time I like doing it.

It's a catch 22.... I can't wait to get my 5th gen so I can stop piling the miles onto the 02- but at the same time, I'm sure I'll be driving it frequently anyway.....

Personally, I've never understood this sentiment. I love putting miles on my cars. If something breaks, it can be fixed. Let the odometer rack up all it wants. Its just a number.

Don't forget the emotional trauma you experience from the separation. It's like watching your baby go into the ER.

Tell me about it. When I first picked mine up I was doing some fix-up work because it had sat and was on pins and needles wondering what was beyond repair and what was still good.

Turned out all it needed were some new brakes and fluids. My only regret about my 4th gen is considering passing it up before talking price to the dealer. Bit the bullet and oh what a sweet deal I have.

*Polyurethane *bushings, what a mistake for a daily driver. Made the road noise louder and every little bump went straight to my butt!

Same here. Fixing things isn't so bad when all you have to pay for is parts.

Make sure that when you get you brakes done, or do them yourself that the slides on the caliper braket get lubed. If they cease up you'll have to either buy the whole new caliper to get the braket(if you can find them), or special order the brakets from GM which is 100.00 bucks

New one found out yesterday: taking it to a car wash instead of hand washing it at my home. After getting it detailed I asked the shop foreman about runs in my wheel finish.

"Did you take it to one of those automatic or hand washes around here?"

"Yeah, why?".

"Time for some new wheels.."

"It's acid isn't it...?"

"Acid in that tire cleaner. Found cracks and went under the paint. Feel sorry for ya man.."

I saw it happen to another guys C5 wheels at a meet and was hoping that it wasn't the case on mine. Well.. f**k. It's pretty much a waiting game now to see when the paint starts cracking and peeling off.
