CEL p1074 and p1071. Wtf??

The car is at the dealership now and they are keeping it overnight and have no idea what's wrong as of the first day. Has anyone else been having this issue??
The car revs when I stop and burns way more gas then usual. 19mpg at best on the highway.

The only mods on the car are a catback exhaust and cai which have been on the car for 10k miles with no issues.

The dealer states that my airaid cold air kit are causing the car to run lean. That doesn't make any sense to me. Can someone explain or is it hogwash ??

I think they're just looking for something to blame it on.

someone had an issue with traction control light coming on. Dealer said it was an over oiled cold air filter that screwed up the MAF sensor and made the car throw a lean code etc..

that was the first thing that came to mind after reading where you said dealer says your cold air unit is causing car to run lean...

I was advised to call the intake manufacturer so I did. They have never had this issue before and are going to speak to their r&d department and get back to me and make sure it's not potentially a defect in their kit. I don't know what to think but the oil seems to be a potential cause. I will have to let them know and see if get helps. It just doesn't make sense for it to be the kit because it woul have thrown a code right away and not after a few thousand miles.

Thanks for the responses guys.

an oil soaked filter will mess up the MAF. I have seen very oily (wet to touch) oiled filters come right out of the box. Most common problem is when people clean their oiled-air filter, they spray on too much oil...screws up the MAF 100% of the time.

It's a stick and when I push in the clutch to brake and ease to a stop the car revs at 1000rpm instead of the normal idle of like 500.

No answer. I tried to talk to my service writer twice today and she was unavailable and didn't call me back when she said she would. I'm tryin to not get upset at this point and keep my cool. I'm fine with them needing the car longer to fix the issue. I just want to be kept in the loop.

dude those are lean codes for both banks, more than likely related to you air intake or maf sensor, put o.e. air box on have codes cleared and see if they return
