Is your car tuned? There is a setting called idle air control that can be adjusted.

Mine does this while coasting down a hill in drive. It revs itself for 2-3 seconds and my foot is on the brake. Doesn't seem normal to me.

My M6 does the same thing. Slowing down in neutral. Right at about 20mph it revs up then settles back down before I come to a stop. I dunno why though. Kind of like it's rev matching on it's own or something.

Just found this thread. Painted my tb yesterday and went to work this morning and now mine does it. It will do it in neutral for a few seconds and is annoying. Going to pull the battery when I get home and see if that helps.

Not tuned and was fine before I took off the tb

Any update on this?

Mine does the same, it revs upto 2k going downhill while I am applying the brakes.

Very weird.

Mine went away after a couple days. My mechanic said my computer had to relearn after I unplugged my tb. Un hook th battery and make sure you don't have a vacuum leak

Thanks - where do I check for a vacuum leak?

Its odd, this car has an onboard computer that monitors engine functions, yet we have to pull fuses and unhook batteries.

I have this same thing on my M6. It is odd like others have said but I don't think it's bad. I do not have an aftermarket TB, but I do remember this happeneing when my car was bone stock. Happens maybe 1 out of 15 stops for me.

Well you have to reset the computer. Vacuum leak could be one of many lines in the engine bay.

Have you been to a dealership yet to see if this is an issue? It looks like you may be under warranty still. Please let us know any updates or repairs that you have for this!
