Thanks Chase!
OP It looks great!!!

Glad to hear that you are so happy with the results!! Everyone who has installed our CAI on their ZL1 that I have spoke with has made the same comment about the audible Supercharger whine, as well as the improved throttle response. Thanks for choosing Cold Air Inductions Inc.!

We have a package deal when you order both. We can't post information on that in the tech forums but check the vendor sales forum.

I would guesstimate 25 to 30 rwhp with the combination of the two. If you look in the CAI thread there are some good average results on just the CAI alone.

I did both mods at the same time and it may be the noise difference helps quite a bit with the overall difference. I agree, 10 hp here, 15 hp there isn't very noticeable (nitrous tuning / passes on my 96 Z28), but add two of those together and throw in much more aggressive sound (s/c whine) and it can become noticeable.

No tune was required and no SES/CEL lights were thrown.

I will say this, my mpg went from 14/15 area to 11/12 area because I can't seem to keep my foot out of the throttle just to listen to the S/C whine.

So Cold Air Intake or Roto-Fab? Im having a hard time choosing between the two. I really want to gain 20 HP, may do a throttle Vmax as well.

I can't believe you didn't notice better throttle response with the VMax TB. It's much better with the ported TB.

I cant believe that either. could it be from the hand control set up you have may not have the same response or feel as the actual pedal does?

umm, probably not. I'm just speaking out of my personal experience. then again, some people may have the belief that once they spend $$$ on a certain mod that they can actually feel it with their butt dyno. whatever the case may be, it's all about the car's owner being happy with the end result and that's what really counts. my butt dyno doesn't really notice any real gains unless it involves a high $$$ mod. then I will usually feel that. lol

What are most of you all who are buying the vmax doing with your stock throttle body? Are you giving it as a core or are you just buying the vmax? I would like to keep my stock one and just buy the vmax but for the price they are asking without a core charge is to much I think for no more gain in HP you get.

Most of us give up the stock unit to avoid the core charge.

Chase, any performance differences between using the VMAX vs a stock SS Throttle body (87mm vs 90mm)?
