Do I?
I live in Texas, do I need a license plate on the front and back of my car? Cause I really don't want to put one in the front, so if yes, is it easy to get by without one?

You are supposed to. I went 5 years before I finally got cited for not having one on the front.

What city do you live in? I've been between El Paso and San Antonio for over 20 yrs and it's always been the law, just not everyone abides by it. I think the fee is around $200 if you get pulled over. I just zip tied (temporary) my license plate to the grille, took a picture to get the ticket dismissed and took it back off haha.

Many people ride around without a front plate in states that require them. It's your decision, but you're breaking the law by not having one. Eventually you will get ticketed for it.

I went 10 yrs without one (car came without front bracket) but when I started traveling for work I got pulled over 3 times. Every time it was by a state trooper. In the city I never got pulled over.

Short version, yes.
There are options. Don't run a plate. $10 fix it ticket. How do I know? Got popped for no front plate, and rigged one up. Took a pic, showed the judge, and it was dismissed. Rig up a plate - I used a gm front plate mount, but zip tied to the lower grille, instead of drilling holes in the bumper. This held up for many miles, and speeds in excess of 100mph. Use the extra strong outdoor ties. Semi-permanent, but easily removable Hide-a-plate: things like the Jac-Fab plate mount will allow it to slip under your bumper, and then pop out (remote actuated, or manually- I think they have different models) Drill holes, and use a factory mount. This is obviously the safest route, but pokes holes in your baby. |

If it's required put it on, it's not worth the hassle in the long run.

Not breaking the law is about as easy as breaking the law.
They make brackets for the front that work fine.
