2015 Spring Edition, fit & finish is hideous
Had my 2014 vert in for top work at the dealership yesterday. They were out of loaners, so they offer me a 2015 Green Flash Spring Edition for a few hours. It has 18 miles on it. Fit and finish was atrocious. Rear bumper (where it meets the metal body by the rear side marker) was misshapen and stuck out a 1/2" on one side. RS chrome rim on the front (or the bumper fit) was wayyyyy off. Where the chrome strips transitions to over the headlight was "off" by the width of the trim piece itself. Buttons missing on driver's power seat, glove box was hanging off center so there was a 1/2" gap you could see down into by the door. MyLink touchscreen seemed out of calibration, had to push far to the left of icon I wanted. Oh, and the 21" chrome wheels, look at little....let's say vulgar.
Not what I was expecting for a car just shy of 49K. Service manager was going to let me take a used 2012 ZO6 as a loaner but it was in the detail shop... :(

Probably why this car is the loaner. If I ran the place and if I had a choice, I'd use the car that was hard to sell.

They were trying to sell it to my wife. Swirl marks like crazy in the paint to boot. I must admit the Green Flash color is gorgeous in the bright sun, the metal flake in the rally stripe was a nice touch too!

That had to have happened after it left the factory, they use machine vision systems that literally wont let the car move down until they get everything within spec. I bet something horrible happened to it getting on or off a transporter!

14 and 15's look much better without the chrome grille trim. To me that would have to be an instant delete mod.

Probably. Ish happens when cars get loaded/unloaded so many times. Mine was missing the outer cover of the passenger mirror when it was first delivered to the dealer.

It would never have left the factory that way. Look hard enough and you'd probably see signs of body damage repair.

My local dealer has one of those and I really don't like the paint at all in person. But I saw no exterior flaws.
Probably some bad luck and damage done during shipping... Before I bought mine they had another black 13 1LS identical to mine but the gas door had obviously been replaced, and never painted properly. Salesman insisted it was just dirty, but it obviously wasn't. Doubt it left the manufacturer that way. Also had a missing cap for the cheap steel wheels... not the painted piece just one of the plastic lug nut covers was gone |
