Yesterday.
They called me and told me that the other Firestone did not tighten ANYTHING. So I was driving with the entire thing loose as a goose. I knew there was a big problem but didn't know that it was like that. At first he told me that the C6 has no caster adjustment. But once he got under the car he realized why it was a problem. He's going to call the other Firestone and talk to the location manager to report this. If he does not then I will. I get that mistakes are made. But if mistakes aren't realized then nothing changes with their methods. It's all good now. Fortunately I recognized the drivability issue. Someone who does not could have ended up with a front wheel collapsing. |

talk about a rookie move, but DANG!
and i didn't ever remember having a caster adjustment either - most vehicles have the caster angle built into the spindle. that's why i thought it was funny when you said that.

Shows how bad the original guy who did it is. No caster adjustment and he STILL screwed it up. hahahaha |

Ok, going with Pete's suggestion of a black engine with orange accents like the car already is on the outside.
So the engine and heads will be black and the valve covers will be orange. The maggie will stay black. Then I can throw some orange wires and other small things on it to make it look full. Maybe the timing cover orange to represent my orange grill. Need photoshop. hahahahaha |

so while waiting on the mail man, i did a practice pulley swap today. once i figured out which ratchet/socket combo would fit in certain places, it wasn't too hard to do.
and just for kicks & giggles, i swapped my rears to an overdrive after putting my bigger pulley up front - granted it's still about a 19% increase in blower speed. good gracious, it was hard to know how to feel when i took it out for a spin. on the one hand, it builds pressure SO FAST now it made me giddy again! but on the other hand, i had my butt cheeks clenched so tight while watching my wideband that i'm pretty sure i creased the seat leather! it actually wasn't too bad after i saw how it was driving. up around 10psi (where my normal setup maxes), the boost started trailing off and leveled out about 12psi - belt slipping, no doubt, because math says i should've been a touch over 14. Owen's tune was able to compensate better than i expected though - saw about 12.2 AFR @ 12psi WOT in 2nd and 3rd gears (which is still leaner than i'd ever want to see). now i only did that a couple times for just a couple seconds & won't be doing it again, but DANG, that was fun!

Ya, I'm a little less compression and forged so I should be able to handle the 12 to 13. Little more cam and volume too. Yours is 6.0? |
