Do you want the Z28?
Straight from the horses mouth
Will there be a Z28 model? CP: "There will be no Z28 model. Through the four generations of Camaro, there have been cases where Chevrolet chose to make the Z28 the top dog or the SS the top dog. As you're aware, Chevrolet is encouraging the SS strategy with cars such as the HHR SS and Cobalt SS. Consistent with this strategy, we have a Camaro SS." heres the link to the full interview http://www.automobilemag.com/new_and...wer/index.html |

Wow, I don't even know what to think anymore...
So the NAME Z28 is out the window according to the interview, but that doesn't mean a monster Camaro is coming out later. So maybe a supercharged Camaro? 550hp? I don't care about the name just give me ultimate Camaro. |

also based on that interview (which I'm not sure I believe) the 4 gauges next to the shifter are for the "loaded" versions of each model only and not standard.

I Don't know about the GT500, but the 6.4 liter Hemi is most likey dead for the Chally and Charger, but its been talks about upgrading the 6.1 like they did with the 5.7
Variable Cam Timing, or VCT for short, ...............doubt it

They have been explained as a cubby if you don't get the model with them. It's official.

Isn't the Z28 coming out the same year as the convertible?
The Z28 is supposed to cost alot more than the SS too. At least that is what I was told. My buddy works at the Chevy dealership here in my town and he told me a loaded SS is probably going to cost the same as a fully loaded Challenger R/T Around 37,500

while I understand their "theory" with this whole SS thing, to not take advantage of the Z/28 moniker seems like poor marketing strategy. Even if you didn't want to make it the "top dog".
Camaro just lost a bit of its soul to me with this news. :-( Don't give me excuses about gas guzzler taxes, CAFE regulations and the like. They can make a world-beating ZR1 but not a Z/28??? I'm not smart enough to understand I guess. Still a great car and I'm happy its back. Just had my hopes on seeing the Z... |

We were told the LS3 would not be used too...I bet the Z28 or whatever they call the LSA model will show up later. They don't want you to wait to buy. But, there is a possibility they will decide to cancel it do to fuel costs.
