Nitto 555R2 305/35/20 Vs. 315/35/20

So, I'm going to need a new set of Nitto 555R2's soon, and a lot of places have my present size ( 315/35/20 ) on backorder. However, I can find 305/35/20 in stock all day long. Plus, they're roughly $120 less for the pair. Thing is, I have an M6, so I'm already having traction problems with the 315's. It just doesn't seem to me like 10MM of tread width is going to make or break my launches. Has anyone tried both of these sizes? I'm not interested in going bias ply or doing a drag pack at this time because I need to concentrate on my Firebird, and any cash I spend on the Camaro is going to eat into my funds for that. Any input would be welcome, I'm about two trips to the track away from needing to replace these.

One thing you have to think about, with the 10mm width difference will be "stretching" the tire out more and have less sidewall for deflection and a smaller contact patch on the ground. Plus the overall diameter of the tire will be different than what you have now. One of my friends has a 2013 ZL1 and had the 305's on there and has traction issues with them, I sold him a set of the 315's I had laying around and he loves them! I took them off because I didn't like how much narrower they were compared to my Conti 315's. 10 mm is about a half inch. I think you should stick with the 315's. Jusy my .02.

Yeah, I'm leaning that way too. Apparently the supply issue has been rectified.
