Intake Cleaning

I have a 2011 with 130k on it,I’ve owned it over 7 years,I changed the plugs and 3 of the plugs had a little oil on them,so ficqured I might need to replace the spark plug seals, but in order to do that, would have to take the intake and valve covers off,so,over the years of being on here, and I knew this day was coming and it was today.
I took off the intake, and cleaned the valve ports,a little CRC valve cleaner, and some Gunk cleaner,it took me two hours and with great results, also used a gun cleaning tool,it worked great, but don’t think my was bad at all,oh,and do not have a catch can, will take pictures tomorrow, after I pull off valve covers, but since I’m taking off the valve covers should their be anything else to inspect other than timing chain and sprockets? Thanks

Intake pictures

This is what it looked like after took off valve covers, and it was in great shape,no build up at all,I was very impressed,so,I’ve had this car 7 years and about 90k is what I have put on it,it has 130k now,so,I’ve always used penzoil synthetic, and again no catch can,so if this is what it looks like at 130k,I have no problem thinking I could easily get another 130k on it.

Intake

I replace the spark plug seals,so hopefully that will fix my problem with oil seeping through, time will tell,on the driver side, that valve cover at the back, back being against fire wall,3 bolts that are very difficult to get to,had to use a swivel to get to it.

Timing chain and sprocket looked great,It’s amazing I don’t look at the inside of engines much anymore, but when I was younger I worked in a shop so did see both gas and Diesel engines getting rebuilt, and can truthfully say mine was by far the best looking one that I’ve ever seen, and you would not believe it has 130k on it.

So,after hooking jumper cables to it,after about 3 or 4 tries if finally cranked,it was turning over, but it was like it was getting fuel, but I could tell it was trying to,almost like it was priming the pump or something, but it cranked took it out,and could tell a difference right away, having more boost,so I did a good job, even though my girlfriend says I’m not a mechanic,lol...the only thing now that’s puzzling is when I use to crank it up as most of you know,it idles high for a minute or so,then drop down, well since I’ve done this, when you crank it up,it’s not idling high anymore, anyone know why.

If its not idling high try re setting the ECM by doing a fuse pull. 5 & 20.

Yea,not sure, but it went back to normal idling the next day,so,I didn’t do anything, and think it just did it that one time, back to normal.
