Actually I think I have the weight/power ratio advantage. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 5 spd. auto comes with the 3.5L with 280HP and 270 lb-ft of torque which gives him approx. 13.03 lbs/HP. He also has AWD so could that give him an advantage at launch? Or is RWD good for a better launch?

You have no need to worry. I would never EVER plan on racing on a residential street. This is a race for the strip!!!

Camaro should win but don't blow your launch or you'll be seeing tail lights.

What I proved is that the difference in Power to weight is so small that the deciding factor will be something else like gearing or traction.

Okay, let me rephrase this for you so everyone wins. This is a DRIVERS RACE, with the advantage going to the g35. How is that?

Good to hear. The drag strip is the great equilizer and favors those who are comfortable and practiced. If there is any advantage in power to weight ratio for the G35 it can all be nullified with cutting a better light and a better launch. If your serious about this race it's worth the time to go to the track first and do a few passes to get to know the car, track and most importantly yourself. Then challenge him and go back to the track. If he's new you'll get him no problem. You be the driver to win the drivers race! Have fun.

Well if we use SWAT 79 logic, now the Camaro will soundly Beat the G35 because at 280HP, the power to weight Ratio is in the Camaro's favor at this point.

Now if you can tell me that the camaro is lighter/the same weight AND has more hp/tq, then by all means, I'll refute my statement. But until then, understand that this car is faster then the v6 camaro, no matter how marginal it may be.

It is not faster, lol...they both top at 155mph, with the v6 Camaro bieng governed to that point.

The g35 also isn't that much quicker, so close that a small hole shot in the Camaro will beat the g35. Dude, can't you read? The numbers are from real world testing, same magazine. Those are not manufacturer numbers, biased to look good. The g35, the 06 version, just does not have a decided advantage, it don't.

Me thinks you are a bit butt hurt as like posted above me, the power/weight ratio is extremely close as well. This is a drivers race, get over it.
