I love how the L76 has this impression of inferiority about it. In many ways, if it were tuned similarly; it is BETTER than the LS3. Check out the torque vs horsepower for both engines. pop the L76 up to 430hp...and your looking at 450 lbs/ft...

I don't know. I give up. Maybe it's just people venting - but when the car shows up with 400 hp...I hardly doubt anyone's gonna question which engine is putting out that 400hp.

At this point I'd just be happy with a V8 that's somewhat affordable. With GM's current attitude (at least what's being put out there) that possibility is in serious question.

I was not aware that they had added those features to the LS3, and im pretty sure they did not, the GXP is getting a detuned LS3 that is all, if you want DOD/AFM L76 is the only way to fly!

actually, I believe that the "detuned" horsepower rating is due to the engine having the AFM and being tuned for a lower octane rating... I'm sure they'll still recommend premium, but I think they added in some safety room in the tuning to make sure people who can't read dont frag their engine.

PRICE whatttt price inst my biggest concern... AFM will cover the greater costs AFM /DOD helps roughy 15% so over a period of time... i will eventually get it back and on top of which i can get a vette with this motor... why not a friggen camaro wow i hate life

the l76 is a good motor. sure you can do mods to it and make it have alot more. but now take everything you do to that l76 in mods and do it to an LS3. how much horse power do you have coming out of that LS3??? long story short, if there is no LS3 i will not buy. i want my ls3 or a gen V. till then l76... well its good and all but its in a ponitac too. do you want your grandparents to have the same engine as you???
