At pickup, drive the car into the car wash stall and rinse it with the hose one section at a time. This will give you a chance to look at each section for flaws. Rinse only. No sponges, no wiping, nothing touching the paint but the water comng out of the hose.

This, combined with an understanding that you'll let them know ASAP if you find anything upon a proper make ready. Classic is good about catering to the retentive car owner. You're rep will likely have dealt with it before.

Ah wonderful idea! You sir should be a car delivery consultant. Thanks a bunch and take care!

Same here. Ordered March, still at 1100. 8 weeks is just the tip of the iceberg in a very long and painful wait.

Question.. do u know by chance how long it takes for the phone call that your car is going into production.. i ordered on May 26. i know they build the cars in batches, so its been two months so i know it has to be coming up pretty soon.. the est.of arrival is sometime in Sept.
Also, JFYI, I wouldn't expect your car in September. I ordered around the same time as you, and I was told between Oct. and Dec. Just looking on this forum, it looks like they haven't even started with some of the Jan. and Feb. orders yet. It takes 8-10 weeks for build, and unless they don't have many orders in those 5 months (Jan-May: doubtful), then you probably won't go into production until Sept.

It took ten days shy of nine months, from day of order (10/13/2008) to turning the key for the first time (6/3/3009). It was a long, frustrating, at times painful and tormenting wait... when I turned that key for the first time, all of it was forgotten.

Truly, the car is worth the wait... and the test in patience.

It's official. :( I wasn't 100% sure that I was the one out of Toby's 4 that got stuck in QC, but I verified in the Built and Bayed Tracking thread that I'm still at 4D since 6/25. It seems that I'll have a bit longer to wait as well, since I don't think it has moved to get the stripes installed yet.

Maybe I won't have her until mid-August, as Toby suggested.

Patiently waiting...

Grats to the other 3 that were released last Thursday!

It's no wonder that Classic Grapevine does so well. The ONLY way that I won't buy all of my future vehicles from them is if they can't match the $$$ that I am willing to pay.

Silver Surfer,
I hope your right, I ordered in feb and was looking at an Oct delivery date. The largest # I've seen pulled was Rocket's and he was #74 I believe. Even if
I get pulled today I'm looking at two months build to arrival time. Cross your fingers tho.

Well.. SHIT.

GM told Toby last week it was ready to ship. He called back today at my request and it is in QC. He was told anywhere from 1-4 weeks in QC with no ETA. Huge bummer, but who am I not go through the Camaro QC Rite of Passage.

I just hope it goes soon,
Nexus... what is your status, and everyone elses. Did I read up there that there are 4 of Toby's produced?
