It only happened a couple times, could have actually been something else but felt like it.

Yes, me too... especially when accelerating to pass or something and there is un-even pavement. I even experienced this on the drag strip too.

Every vehicle I have owned with wide performance tires has done it. Definitely road dependent, but then our roads suck! 😊

In 28º & wet snow? It's likely a combination of tramlining, and the tires barely being able to hold the road in the first place. I don't think anything is wrong - but I am glad you made it to your destination in one piece.
I might suggest PTM "Wet" if you ever encounter this situation, again. Snow/Ice mode effectively is the same as Tour, except it changes the throttle map to be a little less "jerky". Stabilitrak doesn't change. PTM "Wet" engages very different features, including timing and fuel at the engine to maintain grip under acceleration. It does intrude a LOT...in my experience, at least, I've found this to be the most stable suite of Nanny's to drive with in less than ideal conditions. Worst I've done was 36º and wet in the ZL1 1LE.... |

Maybe you should write a book, thanks for that.

It's a wide tire thing, but no about exacerbated by the wet/cold conditions with summer tires. My truck has 305s all around on a 20x11 and it wants to pull where ever the worn lines are.

Does any one know, how long the tires (ZL1LE) are good till they heat cycle out? went out of town and when i get in the freeway and give gas to go around a car that was getting on at 35 MPH( way to slow no one in front of them and no traffic ) the car rear tires let go and back end wonder off to the left, back pedal to get her going forward, so looking to see if any one has a number for heat cycle?
PS it was 62 degrees outside and had driven the car for 15 min to warm the tires before getting on the freeway. |
