I just picked up a 2015 ZL1 last week and noticed the door ambient lights don’t shine completely through. The black paint looks like overspray as compared to The RS or SS models with door ABL’s. Are all ZL1’s like this?

The limited light is mostly due to the dark color in my experience. The ZL1 does have the area close to the dash that has the paint like the RS. If you add another led on the other side of the light pipe in the door I'm sure it would help.

The ZL1's aren't as bright as the SS. There are a couple of kits you can add to make them brighter. There are a couple of videos on Youtube as well that might help you..
