do you regret not getting a 1le over a ss?
I'm looking at two 14 camaros right now. A 14 ashen grey 1ss rs 6 speed short shifter car. I WILL be taking the wheels off at the dealer if I buy this one and get the reproduction zl1 wheels put on.
next one is a 14 1ss rs 1le in yellow. Same option list just one has the 1le package and different color. I have not driven the grey car yet but I drove a yellow 1le and fell in love with that suede shifter. Felt very stiff and good. I can get the 1le for under supplier price and can get the grey one under supplier. Msrp is 41k on yellow. Now 36,800 Grey is msrp 36,900 now 33,200. So close to 4k more for the 1le all done. Will be close to 40k out the door and I don't want a high payment. I was trying to stay in the 400-450 range. That 1le will be around 500 but I could just keep pushing them and trying more. I have not driven the grey car but is it worth it to save the money? I will never road race it. Never drag it. Just drive around town a few times a week etc. I will have to swap the wheels on the grey anyway. I love the grey color and the yellow color...I'm torn. When I drove that 1le I loved it but didnt have time to drive a regular ss they didn't have one on the lot. Idk how the short shifter ss is but I likes the 1le shifter. I am a fan of bright colors. I have a red third gen camaro I've had forever. A inferno orange ss rs. And now looking at these. |

I have a 14 1LE and after driving a regular SS, I would take a stripped down 1LE over a fully loaded SS.

I love my 2SS to death, but I do regret not getting a 1LE. And I've done so much now to my SS that there would be no financial sense in selling it to get a 1LE.

How much are you putting down? 39k is like a 600 a month payment at least.
I would get the non LE SS, especially since you are not tracking it.

Good to know. Thanks. I've yet to drive one but I made the mistake of driving the 1le first. I could get a 1le cheaper but I really wanted the rs package with the led and halo lights.

Same here. I kick myself a little because I somehow missed the 1LE when researching, so I went out looking for a 2SS/RS and found it. My next Camaro will probably be ordered. I love this car every mile, though, so it's all good.

I also can put some money down if I have too. I can get the yellow one down to the price of grey with money down or mod the grey with the money.

I drove regular SS Camaro's and was not impressed enough to purchase one. I bought the 1LE without even driving it. The numbers were so much better and the price for the option was the same as taking a 1SS to the 2SS level, but what you got was much more important to me. Payment was an issue for my family as well, so we got a stripped down 1SS 1LE with only the upgraded speaker option, and I could not be happier. You are buying a performance car for a reason, it is a myth that the massively improved handling will only be a benefit / enjoyed if the car is tracked. It is enjoyed every time you turn the wheel!

For the 3600 difference, you should opt for the 1LE. That's peanuts when you start talking about the labor and parts you would need to do to your 1SS non-1LE to get the same handling.
In 3 or 4 years, you'll never notice the $$ difference, but you will thank yourself many times over.

I could order one but it seems I get a better deal on the stock on the lot. I'd order exactly what I'm looking at anyway.
