Doug Thorley muffler delete

Hi All,

I picked up a 2012 SS and it has he Doug Thorley muffler delet on it. The thing I do not like is the tips stick out way past the diffuser. I attached a couple pictures and wondering if they r installed correctly.

Thanks for you help in advance!

Thanks for the reply. they seem to be installed correctly but it is weird they made them stick out the back that far. My v6 MRT mufflers and stock exhaust were flush with the back.

I think part of the problem is the way the tips are cut. They kinda just stick right out, regardless of the shape of the bumper/fascia. Also, they stick out too far lol.

Nearly every set of tips I have seen that are 'designed' for our cars are angle cut. I don't mean top/bottom angle cut, but also they are cut to help follow the shape of our rear fascia.

It's something you wouldn't see unless you were looking for it or knew to look for it. My exhaust guy showed me when he took off my stock tips when I was doing my muffler delete.

Jesus, I wish I could explain this better.

Heres my Magnaflow axleback muffler delete with 5 inch tips. The top of the tip sticks about past the diffuser less then an inch.

look at the rear hanger in the rubber grommet..is it centered? not much "play" in these axle backs...and why would they etch the name on the tip..so it can be hidden? mine don't have the name on them..if your worried take em off and cut a 1/2 to and 1in off and go from there...good luck!

btw - mine don't look to bad...

I took a look under the car and the rubber grommet is on the ends. Lots of room to slide it back. Thanks for the suggestion and I will take a look and see if the muffler can be moved back and inch.
