Calibration needed?

After replacing VVTs, is there any kind of calibration procedure, other than
just pulling power from the ECU? Just wondering, replaced spark plugs,
a few VVTs, and it got a little worse... I did not pull ECU power yet,
I will today, but I am just wondering if there is a calibration for VVTs.
I put new VVTs in, and I get hesitation under acceleration. It was fine,
kind of, but I put a newer on in place of another newer one, and it
started that again.

Not sure I understand the question and I'm not sure anyone else would by extension. When you say VVTs do you mean valvetrain components and sensors?

VVT - Variable Valve Timing Solenoid. Most people just call them VVTs. Some call
then OCVs. It's a simple question, do they need calibrated, or not...

Also., I don't know what you're "I'm not sure anyone else would by extension." refers
to, I said absolutely nothing about any extensions, anywhere, in any language.

No there are no calibrations but I think pulling power from the car is recommend so that the car can start over on its fuel trims and stuff. It might be hesitating because the car thinks its still got the old stuff it had adjusted too.

"buy extension" would be purchasing. "by extension" means in addition to. VVT means Variable Valve Timing yes which is a mechanical system, so when you say you replaced your VVTs that gives no clear information. I literally had no idea what you were asking which is why I said "anyone else by extension" as in if I didn't get it, I'm pretty sure no one else did either. Not trying to be an ass or anything, but in context it was not a simple question. You replaced your "VVTs". Did you replace cam sensors? Cam phasers? Camshafts? Entire valvetrain? Do you see what I was trying to ask originally? That's all.

Also yes just pull the battery cable like you said in your OP and get back to us, if you haven't already. Have you checked your ignition coils too? Hesitation is a broad issue so...

I pulled #5 and #20 fuses, waited 5 minutes before putting them back in.
Just wanted to know if the KAM needed to be erased, well, I got the answer
anyway, yes... Car ruins totally different, much better.

After starting it, I let it idle to hot, then A/C on for a minute, then off.
Then idle in gear, then idle in gear A/C on. So, went through the whole
basic idle learning process.

The hesitation goes away with 89 octane fuel, but not with 91 or 93. It's
smoother acceleration with 89 octane.
