Hey all, Iv been playing with the idea of building my own AR and 1911 using the 80% lower's.

Anyone in here that can point me in the right direction, for a good kit, and please let me know your impression of it.

Nothing special but all you need is a stripped lower to build a basic bare bones AR. If you get a PSA lower on sale you can literally build an AR for under $300.

Now if you're wanting to get fancier there's a myriad of parts out there. My Aero Precision build is going to end up being $800+ once I'm done with it.

The adam arms gas piston system looks like a cheaper version of the Addax zk and came out shortly after Addax tactical canceled the zk. So it may be exactly that. I only have the actual Addax zk, so i can only comment on it. But it's a masterpiece and gets exceptional all sround performance. It's also mechanically not a normal short stroke gas system despite outward appearances. I would expect even a modestly cheaper version of it to perform very well.
Beyond that, a quality trigger group makes a world of difference and if you can find one, i would get the Addax bulldog compensator. If not, the shark is affordable and performs very well.

My biggest word of advice on ar15 builds is DO NOT go cheap on inturnals. The dependability of ar15s is much more linked to the quality of inturnals than many other guns. At the very least, make sure your gun is built for 5.56 rather than .223 (5.56 is hotter and therefor gun is more durable) and make sure the barrel is chrome lined or stainless.

For 1911, the sky is the limit. I would check with cdnn sports periodically. They often have interesting 1911 parts and usually at very good prices. Beyond that, numrich gun parts is the go-to place for misc. standard parts and is the first place i look for gun parts for discontinued or odd firearms.

Have had a 365 since July of 2018. I'm at 600+ rds so far.....zero issues. I would go 365 for sure. Light, reliable, relatively hi capacity. HI CAP compared to mnost other small, 9mm offerings for sure!
