My Ghosst, 2010 2SS

BEWARE, LOTS OF PICTURES AHEAD

I got my Summit White 2010 2SS in November 2013, it rolled into the lot my dad worked for at the time and it was about time to trade in my 2010 1LT that was having some problems. Since then I've tinkered with smaller cosmetic type stuff, but now that I'm hoping to start engine work, I figured I'd throw together a quick start to a build thread.

Quick list of mods, I'll keep this updated:
COSMETIC:
Heritage Grille (Debadged)
Rally Stripes
Fender Hash Marks
Pasti-dipped chrome (SS badge, entire rear bowtie, Camaro side logos, & tail-light bezels)

PERFORMANCE
Borla Atak Axle-back w/ Summit xpipe resonator delete
Texas Speed 1 7/8" Long Tube Headers w/ Catless offroad connections
Custom Ported Throttle Body
Cold Air Inductions CAI

So without further intro, here's Ghosst as she stands today.

The day I got Ghosst, including a 20 year old me (bonus picture of my LT).

I immediately fell in love and knew my addiction would grow from here. I had never worked on cars before and instantly started researching what I wanted to do.

First things first, I wasn't a fan of chrome, so those wheels had to go. Or..er..get painted by a family friend with a paint and body shop. This happened within a month of driving Ghosst back home.

On top of that, I did a muffler delete for a bit more volume for a low price.

Following that, I got a heritage grille and plasti-dipped the gold portions of the bowties. I'll skip the details and get right to the picture.

Around this time as well, I replaced my muffler delete with a the Borla Atak axle-back.

And here Ghosst sat for a while. Between school and all that, I didn't have much time to do a lot of stuff myself, and paying for a lot of the pricier things was a bit out of reach.

That stuff was done in sometime mid to early 2014, and in 2015 the mod bug hit me hard again, this time being easier to do with school nearing the end. Around summer 2015 I started realizing there was more I could do myself with little skill and a bit of time. On top of that, I realized that working on my car provided a good way to relieve stress, so it became something I did in my free time to wind down.

With my newly found mod bug, I started into more cosmetic mods myself. This came in the form of fender hash marks in vinyl and blacking out the rest of the chrome. Now the only chrome bits are the exhaust tips and the lugs.

Around this time as well, I also got a ported throttle body installed at a nearby shop. The difference was night and day in the throttle response. It was actually weird for me the first time I drove my dad's stock SS after I got used to mine.

After this, I got a Cold Air Inductions CAI and installed Christmas day. The change in response and exhaust note was insane. I really wasn't expecting that much of a change, but it was great.

That brings us to how Ghosst stands at the making of this post, awaiting my next mods.

More mods time!

Up next: TSP 1 7/8" Long Tube Headers

Just placed the order while they're doing a free shipping deal on them, hopefully will be able to get em on and get it tuned in mid-February sometime.

Thanks everyone!

Currently in a spiral where I CAN'T STOP ORDERING CAR PARTS.

Just placed an order for a summit x-pipe to go on with the long tubes. Should have it all by the middle of next week or so.

Now to figure out installing them and having an extra set of hands to help out.

Long tubes and xpipe are ON!

This thing absolutely SCREAMS now.

Passed by Whataburger last night right after the bars close (college town) and saw people turning to watch me.

Now to try and figure out how to upload a video.

Warm idle video, the sound I've wanted for 2+ years! Cold start is at least twice as loud, and WOT is absolutely insane. I couldn't be happier!

Warm weather here in Oklahoma means that Ghosst gets a good bath! Which also means a quick cell phone photo shoot before it gets nasty again!

Ghosst won its first car show award today! Last minute entered a car show after living back in Texas for a week, walked away with a plaque. Something about having people ask about the car and walking up to the stage that'll make you extremely proud of the work you've put into it.

Mods are about the same so far, hopefully that'll change sooner than later!
