Ive read more than a few threads where the Holden cars have about 2 times less than an average car. G8 guys are having a horrible time with their front ends as well.

IIRC an average car has 9 mils of paint.

I was gonna say the same thing, but you beat me too it. It's definitely visible though on my black, but only up close with the light hitting it right.

Wrapping would not have these problems. Yet another reason why paint will be for the base only and wrapping is the future.

No complaints about my paint. Not even really that 'orange peely'

VIN #9471, so maybe they've worked the bugs out a bit more

Having gone over my son's ABM SS I can say the paint is about the best I've ever seen on a GM car.

Maybe it's the ABM but it sure has a lot less Orange Peel than any vette I've seen.
Take a look

IBM paint has the typical peaks and valleys of different thickness. Orange peel on the hood. Very little trash and no swirls. Hope it look just as good after I have the hood strips painted the 16th.

A local dealer has two cars, a black 2LT and an orange 2SS. I'd rate the paint as average/good. Both cars showed heavy orange peel, especially the black one. While black's a tough color to get right for anyone (BMW and Mercedes included), the black paint on my step-daughter's Honda Civic is better than the Camaro's. I'd make an effort to see one yourself before you order so you'll know what to expect. Don't get me wrong, these are fabulous cars, and they are definitely on my "short list" of cars I'm considering. If I end up getting one, it'll probably be white (always looks good...hides everything).

I would rate the paint on mine very good. It is a mass produced automobile at a given price point. Had I paid $70k my expectations would have been Mercedes level or better.

But, I am tickled to death with mine.

I'm very happy with my RJT (# 7992). Have the stripes...but might not put them on.
